Father Campagna’s Birthday Celebration

Gibault Children’s Services is honored to bring back the Father Campagna Birthday Celebration and Spaghetti Dinner to our Schererville campus.  On September 7, 2023, our children and staff had the opportunity to dine with special guests as we enjoyed a home cooked spaghetti dinner and birthday cake to celebrate the life of Fr. Campagna.

Monsignor Michael Angelo Campagna was born in Italy in 1904 and moved to the Midwest after seminary.  Monsignor Campagna purchased farmland in Schererville, Indiana which became the home of Hoosier Boys Town, formally dedicated in July of 1947.  When girls began living in the “boys’ town” the facility changed its name to Campagna Academy.  Today, Gibault continues the mission of Father Campagna and is committed to our youth, families, and communities.
