Our children often display very aggressive behaviors such as hitting, kicking, and biting when admitted to Gibault. Although parents are invested, they have exhausted all resources before coming to us for help. These children have been expelled from school and outpatient therapy has not been beneficial. It is common for us to encounter children who lack communication skills, who are behind their peers in learning, and who arrive with only the clothes on their backs, which are often too small and dirty. Some of our kids have never received a birthday or Christmas gift. Several of our youth have never seen a doctor or dentist before coming to Gibault, and they are malnourished or very overweight upon admission. Many of these kids are extremely traumatized and have experienced placements in several different foster homes or other residential treatment facilities. Your contributions help develop our programs and make vital services available to some of our most vulnerable children, adults, families, and communities. We are grateful for your support.
