Gibault Children’s Services offers residential programs for youth ranging in age from 6-21. All children placed at Gibault work with a master’s level therapist who conducts regular individual, family, and group therapy sessions.

Gibault utilizes a trauma-informed approach based on the understanding that previous traumatic experiences affect the way a person thinks, feels, behaves, and responds to treatment. Gibault has adopted a Stages of Change Model which is a collaborative approach where children are encouraged to take a leadership role in their own treatment by identifying those issues they want to change and taking ownership of their treatment process.

Gibault applies a holistic method to youth treatment where caretaker involvement is essential to the therapeutic process and outcome. Family engagement is strongly encouraged though phone calls, mail, participating in therapeutic day passes, home visits, treatment team meetings, family therapy, and attending special events.
