Intensive Sexual Intervention System (ISIS)
Gibault's Intensive Sexual Intervention System (ISIS) program is a specialized treatment unit for males that have exhibited sexual behavior problems and are between the ages of 12-21. The primary goal of the ISIS program is to have the sexually maladaptive youth demonstrate appropriate sexual behavior. This goal is met through the client learning the dynamics of sexual offenses, disclosing his/her offenses in their entirety, generating a relapse prevention plan, demonstrating appropriate sexual behavior. This goal is met through discussions pertaining to demonstrating empathy for victims, generating authentic self esteem, and learning appropriate human sexuality.

Progress in treatment is measured by the juvenile exhibiting a decreased desire to participate in sexual improprieties by actively reporting of his/her sexual ideations and any episodes of sexually acting out or personal boundary violations. All phases of treatment involve both individual and group therapy and work cohesively together. ISIS clients benefit from a staff-secure environment.

The final phase of treatment involves prevention and the process of curbing inappropriate sexual fantasies. The client takes part in several victim awareness and empathy exercises. Through processing their cumulative treatment up to this point, a relapse prevention plan can be made in addition to a strategic safety plan that identifies potentially dangerous situations that may be encountered in the future. Family reunification generally comprises the final phase of treatment where the client is prepared to re-enter society. A maintenance polygraph is examination is administered at the time to determine if the client is following the developed safety plan.

The therapeutic program offers treatment that is offense specific and addresses the individual development needs of the client. Development of appropriate relationships, responsibility, empathy, communication, and social skills training will be emphasized.

Admission is determined after an examination of all available psychological, psychiatric, medical, prior placement, and court records.

Clients involved in the ISIS program are exposed to a variety of programs and services designed to meet their individual needs.
