Visitation Facilitation
The Gibault Supervised Visitation Program provides a safe, friendly, and neutral environment so that children who are in foster care or otherwise separated from their families may have supervised visitation with them. Supervised Visitation occurs in a home-like environment which provides a comfortable location including toys, games, books, puzzles, and a variety of activities for children and adolescents. The Supervised Visitation Center also includes a full kitchen for families to make meals and snacks during visitation. Outdoor areas include a basketball goal, yard, and picnic tables for visiting.
- Gibault offers activities and information to teach new or different parenting skills and foster appropriate family interaction.
- Service frequency and intensity is based upon the initial and ongoing assessments of family functioning.
- A variety of methods and skills will be utilized to engage the family in services while consistently exhibiting professionalism, empathy, and respect.
- Gibault assists the family with identifying strengths and protective factors for developing skills and techniques.
- Age appropriate developmental tasks and activities are identified and parents are instructed or assisted with meeting the needs of the child(ren).
